Code 1 Concierge Care
§ · Membership

For people who are done settling for less than they deserve from their healthcare.

If you've spent years working with a physician who doesn't know your name without looking at a chart, waiting weeks for an appointment that lasts 10 minutes, and leaving with a prescription instead of a plan, you already know what the alternative should feel like. This is it.

Code 1 membership is a direct-access, physician-led health partnership. One doctor. Full picture. Real plan. Built around you.

§ 02 · Is This For You

Let's be honest about who this is built for.

Code 1 members tend to share a few things in common. They're intelligent and high-performing. They've built something in their professional life and they take that same standard of excellence seriously in everything they do, except somewhere along the way their health stopped getting the same attention. They're not sick in the dramatic sense. They're just not where they want to be, and the standard medical system hasn't given them anything useful to work with.

They usually waited longer than they should have. Something specific triggered the decision. A lab result that didn't sit right. A comment from a spouse. A birthday. A moment in the mirror. A realization that the gap between how they're performing professionally and how they're feeling physically had gotten too wide to ignore.

If that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

§ 03 · Who This Is Not For

Not the right fit for everyone. And that's on purpose.

This isn't the right fit if you're looking for a physician who will hand you a prescription without knowing your history. It's not the right fit if you want transactional care, minimal engagement, or a quick fix. It's also not the right fit if you're not serious about improving your health. The membership model works because the relationship is real, and a real relationship requires both sides to show up for it.

The patients who get the most out of Code 1 are the ones who are ready to be honest about where they are, engaged with the process, and committed to the long game. If that's you, the results tend to be significant.

§ 04 · First 90 Days

You don't just join. You onboard.

Most medical practices hand you a patient portal login and a pamphlet. Code 1 runs a 12-week onboarding process designed to make sure we actually know you before we build anything permanent.

Week 1–2

Initial consultation & baseline

Your 90-minute to 2-hour initial consultation. We cover your history, your goals, your lifestyle, your family history, and what you've already tried. Comprehensive labs ordered. InBody body composition scan completed. Baseline established and your plan of action prepped.

Week 2–4

Labs reviewed in detail

Lab results reviewed in detail with Dr. Cashio. Not a portal notification. A real conversation about what the numbers mean and what they suggest for your plan. Initial protocol decisions made.

Week 4–12

Plan implementation

Follow-up consultation goes deeper into topics not covered at the initial. Regular check-ins. Protocol adjustments based on how your body responds. Direct physician access throughout. By week 12 you have a clear picture of where you started, what's changed, and where the plan is taking you.

After onboarding

The relationship continues

Ongoing appointments, direct access, annual reassessments, and a physician who knows your story well enough that you never have to re-explain yourself.

§ 06 · The Insurance Question

No, we don't take insurance. Here's why that's actually better for you.

Accepting insurance means increased overhead, reduced time per patient, and a system built around billing codes instead of actual care. It means 15-minute visits, prior authorizations, and a physician incentivized to see volume rather than know you. Code 1 was built specifically to get out from under all of that.

What most members do
  • Carry a high-deductible or catastrophic insurance plan for ER visits, hospitalizations, and specialist care. Monthly premiums are significantly lower than traditional coverage.
  • Or transition to a health-sharing program (Zion, Samaritan, Sedera) which functions similarly for catastrophic events.
  • Use Code 1 for everything else, which in practice is the vast majority of their healthcare needs.

Many members find that what they save on insurance premiums by switching to a high-deductible plan covers a significant portion of the Code 1 membership cost. Code 1 does not recommend or endorse any specific insurance or health-sharing plan. We're happy to talk through your situation on a discovery call.

§ 07 · CIMT Cardiovascular Screening

For patients who want the full cardiovascular picture.

The CIMT (Carotid Intima-Media Thickness) scan measures actual arterial plaque and vascular aging. Available to both Code 1 members and the public to pair powerfully with the Advanced Labs panel for the most complete non-invasive cardiovascular risk assessment available.

§ 09 · FAQ

Questions worth answering before you commit.

How many patients does Dr. Cashio see? Will he have time for me?
Dr. Cashio's panel is kept reasonably sized (hundreds vs. thousands for traditional primary care physicians). Each day's schedule is different, but patients rarely have difficulty getting seen by Dr. Cashio.
What if I travel frequently or split time between locations?
Direct physician access via phone, text, and telemedicine means geography is rarely a barrier. Many Code 1 patients travel regularly and manage their care remotely between in-person visits when needed. In-person visits are required for certain procedures and lab draws.
Can I use my HSA or FSA for my membership?
Under federal law, Code 1 membership fees are treated as qualified medical expenses. Monthly tax-free limits apply ($150/month individual, $300/month family). To qualify, the arrangement must solely cover primary care services and not function like major medical insurance.
What's your cancellation policy?
Straightforward — we require a 30 day notice in order to cancel your membership. We do not offer refunds.
What happens if Dr. Cashio is unavailable?
Dr. Cashio is rarely unavailable. However, he has arrangements with Dr. Michael Garrett, MD and Matthew Perdue, PA to cover for him.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
The minimum commitment is the $1,999 enrollment fee and your first month of membership. You may cancel after that time.
What if I want to pause my membership?
Paused membership is treated like leaving the practice — Dr. Cashio and the team are no longer your physician/team, but unlike truly leaving the practice, you have the option to return to the clinic at a later time at the most current monthly membership fee.
Do you see patients outside of Austin and Dripping Springs?
Dr. Cashio sees patients from all over Central Texas and the Hill Country. Some patients who have moved away still continue their membership and come to visit several times per year.
§ 10 · Begin

The first step is easier than you think.

Most people spend six to twelve months thinking about this before they do something about it. The ones who move faster don't regret it. The ones who wait usually wish they hadn't.

Code 1 Concierge Care is not a replacement for insurance. The $1,999 enrollment fee is non-refundable. Panel availability subject to change.
