So this lovely lady called me the other week looking for help.
She was desperately trying to figure out an AFFORDABLE health care solution for herself, her family, and their small business.
She’d been quoted some outrageous $$ from their broker, and was looking for an alternative.
I asked her whether or not she’d ever heard of Health Cost Sharing Plans.

“No, what are those?”

FACT: Depending your needs (individual, family, small business) there IS an alternative to health insurance: HEALTH COST SHARING PLANS.
FACT: These plans are NOT insurance but provide many similar benefits to insurance at a fraction of the cost.
EXAMPLE: I have a plan and it costs my family $350/month. It provides excellent coverage for catastrophic illness, hospitalization, or unplanned surgeries.
CONS: Pre-existing conditions may be subject to a wait time (usually 6 months to 1 year). Many will require you to purchase separate prescription medication coverage. Other exclusions apply.

ARE THEY FOR EVERYONE?
No, I don’t think so. If you have a complicated medical history, or have to see a lot of different specialists then HCSPs may not be a good option for you. But for many it’s a great alternative.
